ActuallyAlison This album is like an iceberg, with a surface of nice chill jazz to relax to. But underneath there are teeth. Initiation continues to heal me and blow my mind over and over as it lulls the nervous system with its gentle and addictive melody while talking about the experience of domestic abuse. It also has some of the tightest, jazziest lyric-writing I've ever heard.
